JASON conway
I'd simply love to be a director and champion the Heavens Valley. I moved to Stroud 6 years ago and was amazed to discover the beauty and peace of the Heavens. I'd like to join the team as a director to give back to the local community that I call my home and help to raise the profile of this very special bit of wild space.
For almost three decades, as a freelance creative, I've used my voice to educate people to reconnect with nature, to see the true value of it and do what they can to protect it. Nature is my greatest inspiration and an integral part of my creative process. I practice natural mindfulness and love my regular nature escapes around Stroud, to recharge and be inspired.
I'm a published poet and author – known locally as an eco-poet. I run the Gloucestershire Poetry Society and an indie art and literary magazine called Steel Jackdaw that promotes positive environmental and social action. I'm a Heavens Valley shareholder and a member of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
Aside from my creative skills (graphic and website design, creative writing, poetry, art and photography), I'm a problem solver and people connector. There is a rich arts culture in Stroud and I'd love to see the Heavens becoming a haven for creative inspiration. As an autistic person who feels a deep connection with nature, I'd bring a unique mix of creative thinking, objectivity and passion to the team.
