I was one of the residents who first got together informally to form the Heavens Valley Action Group in 2023 when rumours first circulated that the Heavens Valley was to be put up for sale.

When the action group formally became a legal entity – a Community Benefit Society – to start fundraising to buy the land, I volunteered to be one of the interim directors.

Since then I have been closely involved with the challenging yet successful process of fundraising to buy the land and I am standing for election so that I can continue to help with the ongoing management of this much-loved piece of land.

With a background in journalism and public relations, my specific role has involved publicising our campaign - leading to coverage in local print and broadcast media – and creating and managing the Facebook page, which now has 1,400 followers.

I am one of the town councillors for Trinity ward, in which much of the land is situated, I live very close to the valley and frequently walk there, and as a member of the Ramblers’ Association I have a particular interest in public rights of way.
